Treatment guidelines
Guideline leg vessels lasering
What are leg vessels and how are they treated?
Leg vessels (also known as telangiectasias) are small, dilated blood vessels that become visible at the surface of the skin. They may appear red, purple, or blue in color.
- Red to purple vessels are located superficially in the skin.
- Blue to blue-purple vessels are located deeper in the skin.
These vessels often develop spontaneously and are generally harmless, but they may be perceived as cosmetically bothersome. Factors such as genetic predisposition (for example, a tendency to develop varicose veins), hormonal influences (such as pregnancy), or professions that involve prolonged standing may contribute to their development.
Since these superficial vessels no longer serve an essential function in blood circulation, they can be treated safely and effectively with laser therapy.
Treatment with the Nd:YAG 1064 nm Laser
At Zen Clinics, we use the Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser. This laser emits a focused beam of light that is selectively absorbed by the blood within the vessel. The light energy is converted into heat, causing:
- the vessel to contract,
- the blood to coagulate,
- and the vessel to be permanently sealed off.
The surrounding skin structures remain unaffected.
During the treatment, you may experience brief, warm sensations similar to small snaps of a rubber band against the skin. Continuous cooling with cold air enhances comfort during the procedure.
The treatment duration averages 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
In the weeks following the treatment, the body gradually clears the sealed vessel. This process typically takes 8 to 12 weeks. For optimal results, 3 to 5 treatments are usually required, with intervals of 8 to 12 weeks. The exact number of treatments depends on the thickness, depth, and extent of the vessels.
Reactions After Treatment
After the procedure, the following normal skin reactions may occur:
- Redness of the skin
- Mild swelling at the treated areas
- Temporary darkening of the vessels
- A burning or warm sensation
These reactions generally subside within a few days. However, the full recovery process can take up to 8 weeks. Dark discoloration may sometimes remain visible a little longer. In general, the deeper and more prominent the vessels, the longer the recovery period.
Your skin therapist will recommend a soothing and cooling gel or cream to support the healing process.
Treated vessels do not return. However, due to genetic or hormonal factors, new vessels may develop in the future. Maintenance treatments may be recommended to preserve the results.
Advice Before Treatment
In cases of extensive varicose veins or suspicion of underlying vascular disease, medical evaluation is required first. If necessary, the underlying cause must be treated before superficial leg vessels can be addressed with laser therapy.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks before and 4 weeks after treatment.
Advice After Treatment
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks after treatment. Protect the skin daily with SPF 50.
- Limit activities that increase blood circulation in the legs during the first week, such as sauna visits, hot baths, and intensive massages.
- Avoid intense exercise for the first 24 hours.
- Apply the recommended restorative cream twice daily.
- We recommend wearing medical compression stockings. These support blood circulation, promote recovery, and help reduce the development of new leg vessels and varicose veins.

Guideline Cosmopeel Forte
What is Cosmopeel Forte?
Cosmopeel Forte is a powerful medical peel specifically developed to reach the deeper layers of the skin and stimulate intensive skin renewal. The formula contains 20% TCA (trichloroacetic acid), 10% phenol, and 10% glycolic acid — a unique combination that targets stubborn skin concerns and promotes significantly renewed, smoother, and more even skin.
This peel is particularly effective for:
- Reducing wrinkles
- Refining skin texture
- Treating sun damage
- Improving pigmentation
Because Cosmopeel Forte works more deeply than standard peels, results become visible quickly. With just one treatment, the skin can appear on average 5 to 10 years younger. In addition, collagen stimulation and cellular renewal continue for 6 to 18 months, allowing the skin to keep improving over time.
Skin Preparation
Proper skin preparation is essential. The skin must be prepared for at least 6 weeks prior to treatment using the products recommended by your skin therapist. These products improve skin permeability, allowing the active ingredients of the peel to penetrate more deeply and making the treatment more effective. They also support faster, safer, and more even healing afterward.
A crucial part of the preparation is strictly avoiding sun exposure and tanning beds. The skin must not burn or tan during this period, as this increases the risk of complications and may negatively affect results. Protect your skin daily with SPF 50 and avoid direct sunlight as much as possible.
The Post-Treatment Process
Immediately after a Cosmopeel Forte treatment, the skin will appear red and feel warm, tight, and sometimes slightly swollen. During the first two days, redness persists and the skin may feel sensitive.
Around day three, the skin becomes darker, almost as if a brown film has formed over it. This is normal and part of the healing process. Peeling then begins, usually starting around the mouth, nose, and chin. It is very important not to pick or pull at the peeling skin.
In the following days, the upper skin layer continues to shed, revealing new skin underneath. Initially, this new skin may appear pink, thin, and sensitive. From approximately day seven to ten, most of the peeling subsides, and the skin becomes increasingly smoother and fresher. Radiance returns, and the texture already feels more refined.
Mild redness may remain visible for several weeks but gradually fades. In the weeks and months following treatment, results continue to improve as collagen production in the deeper skin layers remains active.
Home Care After Cosmopeel Forte Treatment
- The morning after treatment, gently rinse the skin with cold water.
- Apply a thin layer of Emmagen Hyal Serum 1% in combination with Panthenol 2–3 times daily. This provides comfort, accelerates skin recovery, and creates a protective barrier to help prevent infection.
- The drier the skin is kept, the faster the peeling process progresses.
- From day 1, the skin may be gently cleansed with Hyal Balancing Lotion.
- From day 4: apply Kceutic (SPF 50) three times daily. The vitamin K complex supports skin recovery. Continue using Kceutic for at least 8 weeks. If exposed to sunlight or outdoors, reapply every 2 hours.
- Before bedtime: use only Emmagen Hyal Serum 1% + Panthenol until the skin has fully recovered (day 7–10).
- After 10–14 days: when the skin feels comfortable again, cleansing may be expanded with Advanced Cleanser alongside your daily skincare routine.
- Avoid stimulating products such as Foamer, acid-based night creams, Trivita C30, exfoliants, and retinoids for at least 4 weeks.
General Tips After Treatment
- Plan for at least 1 week of downtime.
- Swelling may occur, especially around the eyes.
- The skin may temporarily darken — this is pigment rising to the surface. After peeling, new pink skin will appear, which is normal.
- The skin may look sunburned; the first 3–5 days are usually the most intense.
- Avoid exercise for 24 hours.
- Do not scratch or pull at peeling skin, as this may cause scarring.
Lifestyle Recommendations
- Slightly elevate the head of your bed to reduce swelling.
- Touch your face as little as possible and consider wearing gloves while sleeping.
- Always wash your hands before touching your skin or applying creams.
- Be cautious with pets: do not allow licking and wash your hands immediately after contact.
- Avoid smoking.
- Be careful with hot food; if needed, apply a thin layer of Panthenol to prevent irritation.
- Use a clean pillowcase every evening due to wound fluid and hygiene considerations.
- Always apply Kceutic before leaving the house and consider wearing a hat.
- Choose mineral makeup and only use it once the skin has fully recovered.
- Regularly disinfect makeup brushes.

Guidline IPL for pigmentation and couperose
What is an IPL Treatment?
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. This treatment method uses light flashes of different wavelengths to address skin concerns such as pigmentation spots, sun damage, and couperose (visible blood vessels).
The light is absorbed by:
- Melanin in pigmentation spots
- Hemoglobin in blood vessels
This process breaks down the pigment or vessels without damaging the surrounding skin. The fragmented particles are then naturally eliminated by the body.
Goals of the Treatment
- Reduce pigmentation spots, age spots, and sun damage
- Reduce redness and visible blood vessels (couperose)
- Improve overall skin texture and complexion
Preparation for the Treatment
Proper preparation is essential to achieve the best results and minimize irritation:
- Avoid intense sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
- Arrive with clean skin (no makeup, perfume, or day cream).
- Do not use self-tanners in the week prior to treatment.
- Inform us if you are taking medication or have recently undergone another skin treatment.
- Avoid IPL treatment if you have active infections, open wounds, or severe skin conditions in the treatment area.
- Prepare the skin using the recommended skincare products.
The Treatment Procedure
An IPL treatment at Zen Clinics is performed in a safe and comfortable manner.
First, the skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove dirt, oil, and makeup. A special contact gel is then applied to ensure proper light conduction and enhance comfort during the procedure.
During the treatment, IPL light is directed at the pigmentation spots or couperose. You may experience a brief warm or mildly tingling sensation — this is a normal skin response to the light pulses. The skin therapist systematically moves the device across the treatment area to achieve an even result.
After the session, the skin is treated with a soothing cream. In some cases, LED light therapy is applied afterward to calm the skin further, support healing, and optimize results.
The total duration of an IPL treatment is approximately 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated.
After the Treatment
After Treatment – Pigmentation
You may experience:
- Redness of the skin
- Mild swelling
- Temporary darkening of pigmentation
- Small crusts
After 5–7 days, the pigmentation gradually flakes off. Within 2 to 4 weeks, the full effect of the treatment is usually visible: the skin appears more even, and pigmentation spots become lighter.
For optimal results, a course of 3 treatments is typically recommended, with 4 to 6 weeks between sessions.
After Treatment – Couperose
You may experience:
- Redness of the skin
- Mild swelling
- Small crusts
- Temporary dark discoloration of treated vessels
After about 7 days, the vessels will gradually begin to fade. Within a few weeks, the skin appears calmer and visible redness decreases.
On average, 3 treatments are needed for optimal results, with 4 to 6 weeks between sessions. For long-term maintenance, we recommend approximately one maintenance treatment per year.
Aftercare Instructions
What You May Do
- Gently cleanse the skin with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser.
- Use SPF 50+ daily, even in cloudy weather.
- Apply a soothing and hydrating cream as advised (such as K-Ceutic, Cicaplast, or Panthenol).
What to Avoid
- Avoid hot showers, sauna visits, steam baths, and intense exercise for the first 24–48 hours.
- Do not touch, scratch, or rub redness or crusts.
- Avoid peels, retinol, or other active ingredients for the first 5 days.
- Avoid intense sun exposure and tanning beds for up to 2 weeks after treatment.

Guidline Laser hair removal
At Zen Clinics, we work with the advanced Clarity II laser by Lutronic, a medically certified dual-wavelength laser system. Thanks to this innovative technology, we can safely treat both light and dark skin types with optimal results.
The Clarity II combines two powerful wavelengths:
- 755 nm Alexandrite laser – ideal for light to medium skin types (Fitzpatrick I–III).
- 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser – suitable for darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) and/or tanned skin.
Our specialized practitioners carefully tailor each treatment to your skin type, hair type, and personal situation to ensure maximum effectiveness and safety.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Laser hair removal works according to the principle of selective photothermolysis. The laser emits a powerful beam of light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle. This light energy is converted into heat, which damages the follicle and significantly inhibits future hair growth.
Because the laser targets pigment in the hair follicle, it is essential that the hair remains present in the skin during treatment. Therefore, the treated area may only be shaved throughout the entire treatment course.
Not Allowed During the Treatment Course:
- Waxing
- Epilating
- Sugaring
- Tweezing or threading
- Hair removal creams
These methods temporarily remove the hair follicle and significantly reduce treatment effectiveness.
Why the Clarity II Laser?
With this advanced technology, we can:
- Effectively treat both coarse and fine pigmented hairs
- Safely treat all skin types
- Provide high comfort thanks to the integrated cooling system
- Continuously monitor skin temperature via an integrated safety sensor
If excessive heat develops, the system immediately signals this, making the treatment highly controlled and safe.
Multiple Sessions Required
Hair grows in different phases. Only hairs in the active growth phase (anagen phase) can be effectively treated. Therefore, an average of 6 to 8 treatments is required. In some cases, up to 10 treatments may be necessary, depending on the treatment area, hair density, and hormonal factors.
The interval between treatments is generally 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the body area.
Before the Treatment
To ensure a safe and effective procedure, please carefully follow the guidelines below.
2 Weeks Before Treatment:
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds.
- Do not use self-tanning products.
- Stop waxing, epilating, or tweezing/threading (shaving is allowed).
- Avoid chemical peels or active acids on the treatment area.
24–48 Hours Before Treatment:
- Carefully shave the treatment area.
- Do not apply body lotion, oil, deodorant, perfume, or makeup to the treatment area.
- Wear loose, breathable clothing if larger areas are being treated.
During the Treatment – What to Expect
1. Preparation
The skin is cleansed to remove any product residue.
2. Laser Settings
Based on your skin and hair type, the appropriate settings are selected (wavelength, energy level, and pulse duration).
3. The Procedure
The practitioner precisely places the laser on the treatment area. You may experience a warm, tingling, or mildly stinging sensation. The integrated cooling system protects the skin and increases comfort.
4. Duration
Treatment time varies from approximately 10 minutes (e.g., upper lip) to 60 minutes (e.g., full legs).
After the Treatment – Aftercare and Recovery
After treatment, the skin may:
- Appear red or feel sensitive
- Feel warm
- Show mild swelling or small bumps around the hair follicles
This is a normal reaction and usually subsides within 24–48 hours.
Aftercare Instructions:
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks.
- Use daily sun protection with SPF 30 or higher.
- Avoid sauna visits, hot baths, intense exercise, and swimming for 24–48 hours.
- Use mild skincare products; avoid products containing perfume, alcohol, or acids.
- Do not apply makeup to treated facial areas for 24 hours.
What Else You Should Know
Results
Gradually, you will notice:
- Hair regrows thinner and more slowly
- Bald patches appear in the treated area
- Fewer ingrown hairs and less skin irritation
Complete permanent hair removal is rarely achievable. However, a long-term hair reduction of 80–90% is a realistic and excellent result.
Maintenance
Due to hormonal influences, new hairs may develop in the future. Therefore, a maintenance treatment 1–2 times per year may be recommended.
When Can Laser Hair Removal Not Be Performed?
Laser hair removal is not suitable:
- During pregnancy or breastfeeding
- When using certain medications (e.g., antibiotics or isotretinoin/Roaccutane)
- In cases of active skin infections, open wounds, or eczema in the treatment area
- If you have recently (within 2 weeks) had intense sun exposure or used self-tanner
If you are unsure, always inform your practitioner prior to treatment so we can ensure your safety.

Guideline Microneedling
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is an advanced treatment performed using the Dermapen, a device with fine, sterile needles that create controlled microchannels in the skin. These microchannels stimulate the skin’s natural wound-healing process, promoting the production of collagen and elastin. These substances are essential for firm, smooth, and youthful-looking skin.
Microneedling with the Dermapen is suitable for:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Enlarged pores
- (Acne) scars
- Pigmentation spots
- Skin laxity
- Uneven skin texture
- Dull, tired-looking skin
The treatment is fully tailored to your specific skin type and concerns.
How Does the Treatment Work?
During the treatment, the skin therapist creates microchannels in the upper layers of the skin using the Dermapen. The depth is carefully adjusted based on the treatment goal and area.
Through these microchannels, active ingredients can penetrate deeply into the skin, increasing the effectiveness of the treatment.
The controlled micro-injuries activate the skin’s natural repair process, leading to:
- Stimulation of collagen and elastin production
- Accelerated cell renewal
- Improved skin texture and tone
Microneedling with the Dermapen is a safe and effective method to improve the skin without a prolonged recovery period.
Combining with Other Treatments
Microneedling is often combined with other skin-enhancing treatments, such as chemical peels, to enhance results and further improve skin quality. During your intake consultation, your skin therapist will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your skin type, wishes, and goals. This ensures you always receive the treatment best suited to you.
Before the Treatment
To prepare your skin optimally, please follow these guidelines:
7 Days Before Treatment:
Stop using skin-thinning or active products such as:
- Retinol, tretinoin (vitamin A creams)
- AHAs/BHAs (glycolic acid, salicylic acid)
- Exfoliating scrubs
Additionally:
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds.
- Do not use self-tanners.
24–48 Hours Before Treatment:
- Drink plenty of water to ensure well-hydrated skin.
- Arrive at your appointment without makeup or creams on the treatment area.

Guideline TCA peel
What Is a TCA Peel?
A TCA peel (Trichloroacetic Acid peel) is a medical chemical peel that provides controlled removal of the upper skin layers. This stimulates skin renewal, collagen production, and improvement of skin texture, tone, and firmness.
The treatment encourages the skin to generate new, healthy skin cells while also activating the deeper skin layers to produce collagen and elastin.
How Does a TCA Peel Work?
When TCA is applied to the skin:
- The acid penetrates the upper skin layers (epidermis and sometimes the superficial dermis).
- The bonds between dead skin cells are broken down, allowing them to shed.
- The underlying skin layers are stimulated to produce new cells, collagen, and elastin.
This controlled process leads to visible skin improvement and rejuvenation.
Preparation for the Treatment
To achieve optimal results and prevent irritation:
- Start using the recommended home-care products in advance. Proper preparation is essential to improve skin permeability and allow the skin to gradually adapt to acids.
- Use SPF 50 daily for 2 weeks prior to treatment and avoid sun exposure or tanning beds.
- Stop using self-tanners 5 days before treatment.
- Discontinue retinol use 5 days before treatment.
- Do not use other peels or self-tanning products.
- Arrive with clean skin (no makeup or perfume).
- Always inform us about any medication use or recent skin treatments.
During the Treatment
Cleansing
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and degreased to ensure even penetration of the peel.
Application of TCA
The TCA solution is applied in layers. You may experience a warm or burning sensation; this is normal. If desired, the skin can be cooled during the procedure for additional comfort.
Frosting
The skin may temporarily turn white (frosting). This indicates that the peel is actively working.
Neutralization and Soothing
TCA neutralizes itself naturally. Afterward, the skin is soothed with a restorative cream.
Protection
The treatment is completed with a hydrating cream and SPF 50. LED light therapy is often applied afterward to support recovery.
Treatment duration: approximately 45–60 minutes.
Aftercare Following a TCA Peel
